Today I am linking up with Ms. Shanna for Random Wednesdays. Bless her little Texas heart for coming up with such a great idea and allow me and other fellow bloggers the opportunity to throw a whole bunch of crap together to create a very RANDOM post.
First off I want to give the heads up that from now until April 1st I will not be accepting any paid sponsorships,
I am incredibly busy with getting ready for a wedding, I am about a month out, and the next 47 days are about to fly by faster than a jet plane. That being said I don't believe I am available enough to support my sponsors 100% and for that reason I don't believe you should be betting your money on a horse that is not going to run. I want to give my sponsors my everything because they are putting their heart and their own blogs in my hands to help them grow, which I cannot do if I am distracted. If you would like to obtain a free space for the rest of February or any of March please email me (hallie{at}lifeoceanside{dot}com) and I will set you up with a promo code to get your pretty face on my side bar free of charge.
Please do not stop loving me, I will be back full force and rocking a wedding band starting April 1st.
Since we are on the topic of wedding week I am looking for amazing guest posters to take over my space for the week of March 27th-April 3rd as I will be out of the "office" and gettin' hitched. I know, I know, I know you may think that this is TOO SOON, but honey I am a planner, and I am planning everything down to the color of my pinky toe on my wedding day, so please don't mind me over here trying to be on the ball. If you are interested in guest posting, please email me to reserve your spot. (hallie{at}lifeoceanside{dot}com)
Okay, I really have to get something off my chest. I was going to let it go, and not be a ranter or raver, but I am very very upset and believe that every blogger at some point or another will know where I am coming from and how to handle the situation:
About 3 weeks ago I hosted a giveaway on my blog for a bigger company. I contacted this company stating how much I loved their product, and how much I wanted to thank them for being a great company. I also stated that I was a blogger and regardless of their participation I would be reviewing their product on my blog and would love to work with them if they are interested.
The company replied back immediately stating they would love to work with me and would be very willing to giveaway their product to one of my lucky amazing readers, as well as send me a care package for believing in their product and going out of my way to highlight them. I was SO happy to be working with a bigger company who still took what their consumers though to heart, and to be so generous.
Fast forward to 3 weeks later where I stand with no returned emails, a giveaway winner with no prize, and a care package never arrived at my door. The care package is no big deal to me, I don't mind the let down. I am very upset because I now have a loyal reader who took her time to enter a giveaway, that she won, and has YET to receive any form of prize. I have sent countless emails, as well as offer to buy the product myself. My reader is SUCH a doll and has refused to accept anything from me and still waits for her prize. My heart hurts that they would take full advantage of my blog and my readers to highlight their product and not allow their promised items in return. I know ranting and raving about it really puts me on their level but I just wanted to make others aware of the problem, in hopes that it NEVER happens to anyone else.
Has this happened to anyone else before? How did you handle it? I don't mind being let down, but when it's somebody else at that stake of MY blog, it makes me want to march right up to their office and give them a big ole' piece of my mind. Don't ever take advantage of those smaller than you. It's pitiful and unfair.
Your product I still believe in, your company, not so much.

Wow, what a douchey thing for that company to do! I haven't done any giveaways so I can't give advice but seriously, that is stank.
ReplyDeleteI am SOOOOO excited for your wedding, which actually sounds pretty creepy because it's not like I'm in it or even going for that matter. I am pumped to see pics though. Just drooled over all those boxes of brand new shoes you posted on the insta.
I took two weeks off for my wedding too. Time before hand, time for the honeymoon and time to recover after. No judgement here. You only do this once - might as well do it right!

Wow, I can't believe that company did that! I have never had a company to do that to me. That's sad and scary!
