Weekend Shenanigans: Baseball, Ikea & LOTS of beer.

GOOOOOOD morning Beautifuls.
My weekend hangover is raging full force right now and I REALLY do not want to get out of bed.

I usually write my blog posts the night(s) before but I just had so much to do that after I finally finished cleaning the house, organizing the wedding room, putting together some final touches, it was 12:30pm.
So here I am bright-eyed, bushy tailed, and coffee less at 6:00 am.
This more than likely will be the worst blog post ever written...

Almost every Friday night P & I usually head out for dinner & drinks. It just happens to be happy hour right when the weekend starts so I believe due to the lucky coincidence, it's kind of a waste if we don't take advantage.  We went out to Siesta Key to one of the local beachy digs, the Budweiser Clydesdales decided to enjoy happy hour too, so we had a Budweiser (light) or 2..(3..4.) in their honor.

After a couple of beers we headed home to continue our brew fest there. We watched our typical Friday night shows and cuddled on the couch. As I was halfway asleep at 10:00pm because I am a 90 year old women when it comes to staying up late. I asked P to check if there was any good spring training games tomorrow, before he could answer, I zonked out, and woke up the next morning to  baseball tickets.
We hopped in the car, took a mini road trip, and watched a great game! After posting on Facebook that we were headed down to watch the game a couple of our good friends informed us they were headed out there as well! PARRRTYYYY! The weather was like -1000 degrees for Florida and the wind was killer but it was such a good time. Tampa Bay Rays won!

Hooters was giving away free beers to anyone with a ticket after the game. If you knew us, you would know that before the 9th inning was even over we were already in the car to retrieve our free alcohol, and hot wings.
On the way home we had to make a quick stop at Marshalls because I love bargain shopping, and I was having the itch, and there next to Marshalls in all it's glory stood a Hobby Lobby. I have never been but have seen the amazing finds and shopping stores posted all over this here blogland and have been trying for months to scope one out!
Walking into that place was seriously like crack for me, and I am already debating taking the hour drive back on my next free day. P even loved it, he had his "Man Cave" signs filling the car within the 1st 10 minutes. Such a mess.

Sunday we woke up bright and early and headed up to Tampa for a Fishing expo. I know, it doesn't sound that exciting but it's P's favorite thing ever so I thought I'd be a good wifey-in-training and head on up with him, plus he said he would take me to Ikea afterwords, like I was going to pass that up?!
The fishing expo, he wanted another boat, I want a wave runner, but we left with nada. Just a free fishing poster from the Wildlife Sheriff guy.

Ikea was a lot more on my level and much more entertaining. I love that little Swedish furniture paradise, except I always feel like emptying my bank account when I am there. Unfortunately I didn't leave with much BUT I got a special item for a fun ole' DIY hitting the blog later this week.

After all the fun of the weekend, I got home to drink more beer, spend 9 hours organizing my wedding closet. This is the completed project and it still looks like a giant craft store blew up in my guest bedroom...4 more weeeeeks!

  6. Stopping over from the link-up! (And I joined one of them, thanks to you!) I had to smile at your Friday night. My husband and I always do the same thing on Fridays, too - dinner, drinks and TV, and it's always me who is asleep well before midnight!

Sounds like a great weekend. Stop by if you feel so inclined :) - Your newest follower

  8. You had a busy but super fun weekend! I'm so glad you got to finally check out a Hobby Lobby though - they are amazing! And dangerous of course too, because you might end up spending all your moolah there. But I'm jealous of your IKEA trip! Jeff and I love IKEA, but the closest one to us is Orlando or Atlanta, which is still 4-5 hours away... sad day. Looks like you have a great time though this weekend!

  9. Sounds like my kind of weekend, beer, shopping, fishing...maybe not baseball per se...but you know.
I love Ikea, but Ikea hates (or loves, depending on how you look at it) my wallet!
